Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

• I love having orchids on my watercolor desk in my studio. And every season when she blooms I get an orchid-fevered-itching to paint her!!!
• I have been studying the masters for a long time, and when I am in a crunch...your go-to guys are the masters! So…which artist painted great orchids???? Why, Georgia O’Keeffe did! I have many books in my library about her and I am very inspired by her works. She created large-format paintings of enlarged blossoms, presenting them close up as if seen through a magnifying lens. I painted the way she would have-very opaque with lots of white color.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and developed a keen interest in art at a very early age. On my ninth birthday, I began art classes with emphasis toward drawing, pastel, and oil painting. I work with many different mediums such as graphite, pen and ink, acrylics and pastel pencil; yet watercolor is my primary medium. I was awarded the 2014 Women of Achievement Award in Art granted by the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission. Besides being a full-time artist, I am a part-time contributor to SOKY Happenings Magazine where I reside as the artist in residence.
